The European Renewable Energy Directive stipulates that each Member State has to submit its renewable energy action plan for 2020 by June 30, 2010, which will be legally binding until 2020. Hence, it is very important that all stakeholders join forces and team-up to contribute towards this historical moment.
A one-day workshop will be organised aimed at involving all interested parties to find answers to questions such as which renewable energy technologies should feature in this action plan? How does the local industry and energy enterprises foresee the growth of the RE market? What do NGO’s have to contribute with regards to Malta’s clean energy supply? How can scientists, architects and engineers contribute towards this important binding legal document?

Government bodies, policy makers, industry, enterprise, NGO’s, energy producers and distributors, environmentalists, mayors and local councils, as well as engineers, architects, scientists, academics and students, who are involved in the energy, transport and buildings sectors, are invited to attend.

The workshop will be held on February 12 at the Victoria Hotel, Sliema. The programme will include presentations by keynote speakers from MEEREA (Malta), EREC (Belgium) and the Fraunhofer Institute (Germany) following by a discussion.

Interested persons are to register online by January 18. The registration fee is of €20 whilst students will be admitted at €10. Late applications will be charged €30. The fee includes lunch, coffee breaks and a CD with all the presentations.

For further details and to register visit www.meerea.org/repap2020.
