A migrant who escaped from a detention centre four months ago was today jailed for six months after he tried boarding an aircraft using a false Spanish ID card.
Ghanaian Abdul Ali Ghaniju, 19, admitted in court to trying to escape from Malta using a fake Spanish ID card and residence permit.
Mr Ghaniju escaped from the Safi Detention Centre on September 2. He was arrested at Malta International Airport yesterday when trying to board a flight to Girona.
