The Civil Protection Department is to hold a public activity to collect provisions to meet the basic needs of victims who have recently been hit by disasters.
Particular reference is being made to the latest catastrophic earthquake which hit Haiti on Tuesday and to the possible needs which may still be required by the Albanian population who were affected by the torrential rains of last week.
The collection of these items will be made at the Humanitarian Aid Section of the Civil Protection Department at Shipwrights Wharf, Marsa (behind Marsovin Ltd) on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January between 9am and 4pm.
Monetary donations may also be made to two accounts which have been opened at the Bank of Valletta, account number 40018758443, and at HSBC, account 078-002391-050.
