HSBC Bank Malta plc announced the formation of the HSBC Foundation to better integrate the bank’s corporate sustainability programmes, consolidating the three existing funds (HSBC Cares for Children, HSBC Cares for the Environment, and HSBC Cares for Malta’s Heritage Fund) into one foundation.
The main focus of the foundation remains on underprivileged children, the environment and Malta’s heritage. The foundation will be chaired by Catherine Gonzi.
Alan Richards, CEO of HSBC Malta, said, “We have simplified the structure of the funds supporting our work in the local community with the creation of the HSBC Foundation. The creation of a single foundation is designed to help us increase our ongoing support to children, heritage and the environment in Malta.”
