The Malta Independent online

19 March 2010

A number of employees from the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) recently spent a day doing voluntary work at St. Joseph Home in Santa Venera. This is the fifth CSR day organised by the Corporation.

St Joseph Home is run by the Missionary Society of St Paul and has a number of boys under its care. Throughout the day, the Corporation’s staff was divided into different groups which were assigned whitewashing of various places, extensive cleaning of the boys’ dorm and various other work. The Corporate Social Responsibility Day is also an opportunity to strengthen the team building efforts between management and staff from different Divisions, who donate their vacation leave for the event.

Fr Frankie Ċini mssp, Director of the Home, thanked the staff of the Corporation for their effort and commitment during the day. He noted that such events went a long way to ease the burden of maintaining large premises such as this one, and served to make a visible difference in the living conditions of the boys.
